“Every day when I see campers with a smile on their face as they get off the bus, I know that we have done a good job and succeeded in getting the day started off right.” Julio Lopez, Camp Transportation and Supplemental Manager3. You get paid to have fun

Instead of spending money this summer, you can get paid to have fun. Congressional Camp offers a wide range of activities that counselors get to experience for free, such as trips to Amusement and Water Parks, Indoor Skydiving, Trampoline Parks, and Arcades like Dave and Busters.

4 . Build a great resume with extra qualifications

Working at Congressional Camp allows you to build a great resume!  You will gain experience in creative problem solving, strategic planning, decision-making, resolving conflict, and effective communication. The idea of a sleepaway camp might be daunting to some people. No more uncomfortable bunk beds or waking up at the crack of dawn. Our camp day starts at 8:15 AM and ends at 3:45PM, but still allows for you to enjoy essential sleepaway camp experiences.

6. The outdoor activities

Being a camp counselor at Congressional Camp provides you with many opportunities outdoors. Kayaking, Hiking, Firebuilding, Fishing, Horseback Riding, Archery – you name it!

7. Travel to new places

These are key ways to fine-tune your leadership skills!

10. Make lasting friendships

You will meet some of your best friends here. At Congressional Camp, you will get an opportunity to work side-by-side with new people.

“I met some of my best friends at camp! Congressional Camp helps foster these relationships by creating opportunities to spend time outside of work.  There’s a reason I’ve been here as long as I have. I love everything about camp!” Andrea Portillo, EHP Director and 10th Summer at Congressional Camp
