Why Congressional Camp?
Big adventures. Big friendships. Big smiles.
Endless opportunities are waiting for your camper at Congressional Camp. Every program is designed to give children a summer filled with energy, exploration, and genuine growth. Families choose Congressional because campers do far more than move from one activity to the next. They discover new interests, meet new challenges, and join a community that quickly feels like home.
Across all of our offerings, including Day Camp, Great Adventures, Specialty Camps, Travel Camps, and our Counselor in Training program, campers spend their days exploring, creating, and building confidence in ways that feel natural and exciting.
Day Camp and Great Adventures set the tone. From the moment campers arrive, they are in motion. They climb the 40-foot rock wall, ride our horses, play in the gaga ball pit, and dive into classic camp activities in sports, science, arts, and outdoor education. They cool off in our new aquatic center, eat lunch with friends, and spend much of the day outdoors making memories that last.
Campers who want to focus on a particular interest can do so in our Specialty Camps. Technology, art, STEAM, cooking, music, and sports become hands-on, skill-building experiences led by instructors who know how to turn curiosity into real progress. Even with their focused themes, Specialty Campers still enjoy the recreational traditions that make summers at Congressional memorable.
Older campers take their sense of adventure even farther in Travel Camp. These programs bring campers to local attractions, waterparks, sporting events, museums, and other destinations in the area. The experience gives them a healthy sense of independence while keeping them grounded in the structure and safety of the Congressional Camp community.
Rising 10th graders move naturally into leadership through our Counselor in Training program. CITs learn what it takes to support younger campers and develop responsibility through hands-on experience while still enjoying the traditions they remember from their own camp years.
Those traditions carry through every program. Congo Conquest, Camp Olympics, and the Lip Sync Contest invite campers to cheer, compete, and perform in ways that build teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence. These events are lively and memorable, and they give campers a sense of belonging that endures.
Behind every activity is a team of full-time educators and camp professionals. Many of them grew up here as campers and counselors. Our specialists, lifeguards, ropes course staff, and support teams complete extensive training so that fun and safety remain inseparable parts of each day.
Wherever your camper’s curiosity leads them, they can look forward to a summer filled with new challenges, long-standing traditions, strong friendships, and the kind of fun that defines Congressional Camp.
